The Awakening Angler YouTube Channel, and Limp Lizard BBQ have joined forces to form WalleyeFest, LLC, bringing the annual 1st weekend in May Walleye Derby back to Oneida Lake. WalleyeFest Derby is not just an event; it's a tradition reborn that brings together families, anglers, and the entire community to celebrate the arrival of spring in Central New York.

 

After the Lions Club hosted its final derby in 2022, WalleyeFest debuted in 2023 to revive and expand this cherished tradition. Now in its 46th year, this “opening weekend” derby has been a Oneida Lake staple since 1979!

 

The festivities kick off at 12:01 AM on Saturday, and the excitement continues non-stop for 36 hours, concluding on Sunday at 11:59 AM. The Derby Awards Ceremony follow at 5pm at "The Pier" restaurant on co rt 37 in Central Square.

1. A 2-day Walleye Tournament open to any skill level.

2. $20,000 in Cash & Prizes guaranteed for the main leader board per 1000 entries.
